Gary enjoyed being the sound techician for different local bands and our Church as well as being the "Sound Man" for a local radio show 'Courthouse Country Musc". Here is the museum collection assortment of microphone shaped radios.
"On The Air" Microphone AM/FM Radio was made in Hong Kong. It has a British registration number and was distributed by Winsor. The rotary tuning and volume controls are in the base. the 'ON THE AIR' lights up when the power is on. this radio uses 4 'AA' bateries. Gary's notes leads me to believe this is the radio shown in the book The Story of a Collector The Beginning ... And The Never Never Ending.. By Wim Meter, page 86. His notes also mentions Collector's guide to Novelty Radios by Marty Bunis & Robert F. Breed, page 161 Plate 440.
On The Air AM/FM Spring Style Microphone Radio Model OTA-70 with the Melody decal. This radio was made in Taiwan. The rotary On /Off and Volume Control are in the base.
